I couldn't agree with you more. It is almost painful to watch and listen. Did you LOVE his Keys to the Game. Basically, for the Red Sox: Win or this will be your last game and you won't play again till next year. and for Cleveland: Win and you will go to the World Series. Such insight. I didn't know that. Honestly though, it is brutal to listen to both of them.

In all my life I have always known that I cannot do a better job than a paid professional can...except in one case ...Tim McCarver. I have a circle of about 20 baseball friends and each of us could be a better announcer than Mccarver. I would venture that most of us could do a better job than McCarver...the one thing all my baseball group agrees on...is that Tim McCarver sucks

Tim McCarver is not a Commentator.
He is a baseball analyst.
Joe Buck is the Commentator.
I agree though I don't like Tim McCarver, he loves to hear himself talk, and he acts like he's been covering the game of baseball since 1850.

McCarver is purely too opinionated, obnoxious, boastful, and over-bearing. Now i comprehend why Deion Sanders, whilst he became into playing for the Reds, dumped that bucket of chilly water on McCarver's head after a game interior the locker room!

No. He's not. He's dull sometimes, but he is really sharp, too. He just called Manny Ramirez on not legging out a double. He got Len Dykstra on hot dogging fly balls. There is a bandwagon here on Y/A that says all the commentators suck. Maybe Joe Buck does, but that doesn't make McCarver bad. He's so-so. No one is as bad as Y/A people let on that some people are.

His act is really old. Some of his best work was years ago with the New York Mets. Now, he sounds like grandpa in a rocking chair on the porch, incoherently talking about walking 30 miles total to and from school, without paved roads, maps or water.

Buck might be a little worse but it is close. I don't like him personally. He makes obviuos analagies that an average fan could make, I want someone up there who can tell us things we do not know.
