I'm a Yankees fan, I have been from before A Rod was even born, and hope he opts out of his contract and the Yankees keep their word. But he is greedy, and if he thinks the Yankees will stick to what they are saying, I don't think he will opt out because no other team could afford what he is asking. But, I hope he does leave, I never liked the trade and he has done nothing in the last 4 years to change my mind. Accept for hitting, he isn't a very good baseball player, he is a below average defensive player and his fielding statistics prove that.

Keep his word? He promised to leave if Torre left? I didn't know that. But the way the fans have treated him and the way Steinbrenner treated Bernie Williams and now Joe Torre, I think he'd be smart to move on. Until Steinbrenner goes, I can't be a Yankee fan. He sucks.
