I don't think two years is too short. Everyone mourns differently. Nobody wants to be alone in life, so if they can find someone to be happy with, then why not? It's not out of disrespect to the spouse who died, but the widower does have to move on.

Not all of them do. My grandfather was married to my grandmother for over 30 years; when she died, it took him almost 4 years before he even started to date. But I think for the most part, Widowers remarry quickly because they are use to having someone there on a daily basis. I know my grandfather waas extremely lonely. Can you imagine being married to someone that long, then all of a sudden their gone?

Most Widowers marry quickly because of loniness, they are used to being married and want companionship so bad that they sometimes make poor choices in their new spouses. I also know that their are some people out their who prey on widowers, meaning they seek them out for financial gain, they know that a widower is very vulnerable and a easy catch, I know this for a fact, because one of my old friends pretended to be in love with this elderly widower just to break his heart and take almost all of his assets, so my advise to all you widowers out their is think before you leap! Make sure you have waited at least two years after losing your spouse before you wed, and get to really know the person your about to marry, this means running a credit report on your future wife or husband and doing a back ground check, I know it sounds drastic but in this day and age you must be smart, or you could lose everything youve got for some bimbo that could lie and steal from you. Be careful and cautious of everyone.
