Say you took the SAT or the ACT 2 or 3 times. Can you choose the one best set of scores to send to college? Or should you include the number of times you've attempted and the scores for each?

Yes and No.

Yes, on your application, you are usually asked to report you're SAT scores, depending on what university you are applying to, you will be asked for your best scores for each category, or your best score in one sitting (only colleges i know who do this are UCs). If you did not send the scores through the CollegeBoard, check with your counselor because they should be on your transcript, that you will eventually send to the college to confirm your grades and scores.

No, if you specifically send the college the scores, through the CollegeBoard, the college will have them.

So, basically, either way the college will have all your scores, however, (as far as I know) colleges don't look down on you if you have taken the test several times. So don't worry about which scores colleges will see, and worry more about the test.

You have to put all of you SAT or ACT scores on an application, but colleges claim to only look at the best. However, if you take both the SAT and ACT, you can choose to either show all of your SAT scores or all of your ACT scores, but you do not have to show both.

The College Board will send your scores to the colleges that you choose. They will send all your scores. The colleges are supposed to look at your highest score in each of the three areas of the test.

So, your answer is No.

If the college says it makes use of the utmost composite (or creates its very own composite by making use of taking your maximum examining, Math and Writing rankings), that's what they are going to do. Admissions officers be attentive to that a large number of issues can influence a pupil's attempt rankings on a given day. you're starting to be had a migraine, you're able to be able to have been sitting on the brink of three people who coughed and sneezed interior the direction of the full 4 hours, you're starting to be had a "undesirable strategies day". it relatively is why they settle for different rankings and why a large number of faculties p.c.. and decide between your superb factor rankings relatively of purely observing the composite. Your superb score exhibits your means and that's what they're attempting to decide interior the admissions technique, in spite of each and every thing.
