Wow. Some of the groups mentioned above aren't even punk bands!
Anyhoo, I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but I gotta go with The Clash. They rocked! Almost all neo-punk groups rip them off daily.

Punk Rock didn't exist in the 60s or 70s. I know this for a fact cause I was there :) I'd have to say Johnny Rotten and the Sex Pistols brought it out in the 80s.

Other choices for me would be bad religion, anti-flag, NoFX, and a bunch of others, but they are more recent.

Hmm, I don't know, I like a lot of them. The Ramones are great, definitely. The Clash is amazing too. And AC/DC of course.
