I don't think that they are really born that way but I do believe that that is who they are. Just like you couldn't turn a straight man gay you can't turn a gay man straight. They are who they are and that is why people are amazing. I don't think it's a choice.

BORN THAT WAY! i am gay i know that i was born this way. if i had a choice of my sexuality i would choose to be straight. the daily degrading remarks from people is awfull. just today at lunch a car drove by with guys in it, when they passed my they threw a watrer bottle at me and yelled fa.g! .... do you think someone would choose that life!? i've already attempted suicide becuase of my sexuality. i hate it. ... and also, just to prove its not a choice... erm.... when did YOU CHOOSE to be straight? (assuming that u are) ... what day? or what year? how old were you? where were you when you made that decision? .... you never made the decision... so you cant answer that, the same goes with gay's... we're born this way

It has been biologically proven to be born that way. There is no choice. Many people think it is a choice. It's not. Some are in denial about it their whole lives.

I think for the most part they are born that way. I also know a couple of people who told me it was their choice so I guess it depends on the individual.

ok.. they are definately one hundred percent born that way.. well the people that are really gay anyway.. why in the world would anyone choose to be made fun of and ridiculed the way they are? you can tell that someone is gay from childhood.. children do not know to choose something like that.. just think about this.. if you are a straight male, could you ever ever ever be sexually attracted to another male?? no right? well there you go.. some men just have a natural attraction to other men.. you can not chose who you are sexually attracted.. thats the bottom line!

It doesn't really matter to me one way or another....but I have friends who are gay who told me that there were times in their lives that they wished that they could have been straight- only because people gave them such a horrible time. Now my friends are comfortable with who they are and wouldn't change their sexual orientation for anything. Given the experiences of my friends, I would say that perhaps they were born that way since they couldn't change it (not that they should have!)

People who are exposed to a large amount of testosterone in utero are more likely to be homosexual. If the ring finger is longer than the pointer finger, it is a sign of pre-natal testosterone exposure. Obviously, not everyone who has a longer ring finger is gay, but it is interesting.
So in answer to your question, born that way.

I believe people are born that way, I have a person in mind who I knew in public school and you could see it then. When he came out, no one was surprised. I heard a gay man say "no one would chose a life of discrimination and ridicule" and that confirmed it for me.
