Saying something smart varies from individual to individual. What one perceives as "smart" may be apparent to another. In a sense, anything smart that is uttered by someone is based solely on the perception of intelligence by the listener.

How can you hear what I say? Wouldn't you prefer that I *write* something smart?
Life's but a walking shadow; a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

October is the 10th month in the year because Julius and Augustus wanted to be included in the calender so they stuck themselves right in the middle and it bumped up the months in front of them making October the 10th month while "OCT" means 8.
