Medicine is one of those things you will never get a direct answer on from a doctor, your mom, and that old lady down the street who knows everything. It seems like everyone has their own opinion, but no one really knows. When I was pregnant with my first son my doctor told me it was okay while a friend's doctor told her no. I can't even count all of the medicines that this same situation happend with.
I do know that I took Benadryl while I was pregnant. I had a healthy 8lb 2oz baby. (and I'm only 5'0" and 110 lbs pre-pregnancy) I'm now pregnant with my second child and will continue to take it until they can find conclusive evidence that I shouldn't.
Congrats!

I was told I could take it, to help sleep as well, and the agent in benadryl that helps you sleep is also in Tylenol PM and is safe to take. But as always, ask your doctor to make sure before taking any OTC medicines!

Yes, Benadryl, Claritin, and Sudafed. I only take Benadryl from time to time, I have horrible allergies and of coarse it doesn't get rid of them, but it helps.

I was told today by my doctor it's safe to take. I don't think they would recommend something like that if they weren't sure about it.

My doc said ok too - I guess some docs are more conservative about drugs than others. My doc mostly just said, use it if you need to, just not for a long time.

Your best bet is to ask your doctor, as some do and some don't allow it!

No. Any antihistamine is bad for you, and for baby. If you wouldnt give something to a newborn, you dont take it while pregnant. They just recalled all infant cold medications, and for good reason.
Dont take it while pregnant either, its just poor practice. Many doctors do not allow it. Some do, at their own risk.
