I see moles, chipmunks, rabbits, starlings, crows, finches (among other birds), squirrels, frogs, and gardener snakes.
And if you consider bugs and arachnids wild animals then I have cicadas, locusts, crickets, grasshoppers, praying mantis, mosquitoes, gnats, beetles, butterflies, worms, many different types of spiders, and tons of ants.

I live in the city of Chicago and I have seen more wild animals than I care to.

Once I was walking to the train and there was I thought was a dog running my way but the run was really weird. Turned out to be a deer.

You see possums all the time including once when I opened up the back door to put some trash out and there was one on the porch (apartment mind you).

Not long ago I was standing at the bus stop and I saw a raccoon casually crossing the street.

And of course I've seen rats and mice.

I don't know what the hell it is, but it is an under ground something... bigger than a mole, smaller than a grounhog. I found the hole and put a rock over it. However it made another hole a long way away from the other one. I have no clue what it is. I live in the Shenandoah part of VA and we only have certain animals here. It's too small for a groundhog, which I once had. Too big for a mole. Can anyone help me. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. I don't want to hurt or kill it. I just don't want lots of holes in my yard? Besides moles and groundhogs, what makes holes in yards. It is almost winter and I do not want BABIES in the spring. Yet I don't want to pour gasoline down there as a mean friend suggested. What on earth shall I do. Oh no that is a question and now I am in trouble. *uck, now I am in trouble. #hit!!!!!!!! And all I wanted to be is an animal lover. Dammit!

I know I am going to get in so much trouble but I've had a lot of Captain Morgains and this is an important question to me... Oh *uck....... I'll never get best answer, but I was very honest. Bless you all!

Birds -all kinds; especially 3 Blue Jays and 2 Woodpeckers; also wild ducks that fly in for corn.

Owl - he keeps us awake at night sometimes.

Squirrels - lots of them. At least a dozen. One huge nest in my maple tree out back and one smaller nest out front. (Had babies last year).

Raccoons - family of 5 living in the storm sewer

Opossum - 3 of them

Ground Hog - just saw him/her but not a regular visitor

Rabbits - just a few this year

Chipmonks - not as many this year as last year

Moles - just one I know of

Mice - I had one escape and is living in my Car parked out back.

Lastly - that kid across the street when he had those LOUD parties. Oh, that's WILD, but he's not really an animal. LOL.

raccoons
kestrels (sparrowhawks)
skunks
snakes~garter and other "safe" ones

However, this region is noted for timber rattlers (rattlesnakes). A little farther south where I grew up, there is a place in the woods called Rattlesnake Holler (Hollow) for very good reasons. I notice that a site about them refers to them being in Wisconsin. Maybe they need to revise that. We also run into the occasional copperhead if you're not careful while mushroom hunting.

A few streets away, I saw a very large red fox! He was absolutely beautiful and completely unafraid of my car or me. I was careful to keep the car between me and the fox. Yes, I was that close! He was standing at the top of a small rise, and I was parked at a gas station.

Coyotes have been spotted several places in town, too.

I live in a city in South-Central Ilinois.

We have a couple of groundhogs, squirrels, and some river otters that hang out in our yard, and inside the house we have chinchillas, a dog, a cat, a fish and 3 snails.

Raccoons and rabbits are usually wandering my yard when I get home at night. I live 7 blocks from the river, I don't know why they come all this way, unless someone in the neighborhood leaves cat or dog food out at night. I enjoy watching them anyway.
