2{x+(3x-2)}=20 so
4x-2=10
x=3
so one side is 3 and the other is 7

Let A & B be the sides of the kite
from the problem,
A = 3B - 2

Perimeter = the distance around a given two dimensional area, so for a kite, the Perimeter,P = 2A+2B

Since, P=20, substitue this to the equation P= 2A+2B,
20 = 2A + 2B
but A = 3B -2
20 = 2(3B-2) +2B
20 = 6B - 4 + 2B
20 + 4 = 8B
24 = 8B
B = 24/8
B =3cm

substituting this to get A
A = 3B - 2
A = 3(3) -2
A = 7cm

x = one side of kite
3x-2 = other side
perimeter = 2(x+3x-2) = 8x -4
8x-4 = 20
8x = 24
x =
3x-2 = 7 cm = long side of kite

perimeter=2(l+w)
let length of one side be l.
the other side = 3l-2
2(l+3l-2)=20
2(4l-2)=20
4l-2=10
4l=12
l=3 (one side)
3(3)-2=7 (other side)
