Is the 768mb GDDR3 8800GTX better then a 1gb GDDR4 2900XT?

Actually they are roughly the same price, but the GTX is the better of the two. Now I am going to launch a preemptive strike, because someone will no doubt tell you the ATI is better, and if you JUST looked at the listed specs, that would be a fair assumption. But the ATI is lacking in raster operators and texture units, something 95% of people on here don't even understand, but this significantly slows the card in a great many games, leaving it behind the GTX.

Nvidia 8800gtx is cheaper and nvidia is always the best.
