You fool! There was no Earth in the year ten thousand. The Milky Way galaxy had just begun to coalesce. If you mean to use the hermetic measurement of time so common now, which starts with the birth of Jesus Christ, then I will refer you to Isaac Azimov. The Earth can easily house 10-12 billion humans. After that, resources will be taxed to the point of causing cyclical population declines. By your year ten thousand we will have experienced this many times, if we are still alive.

you people are so pessimistic. Humans are very adaptable we adapted to the last ice age so why couldnt we survive another one? Besides ice ages are not sudden it takes hundreds of years for climate to change like that. With global warming due to pollution its obvious the climate is gonna change quicker than that but 8000 years from now that problem might be long resolved. We may even be able to control the weather by then, who knows? Theres no telling what the worlds gonna be like in the far future.

You need to define what population, if you are speaking of Human, NO we will probably destroy this planet by then, or consume it with green greed. As for microbiological, YES some forms of life will survive or even be encased into a Cryogenic lump of ice after the next ice age, but we are still waiting for the meltdown that is coming, probably not in our lifetime, but it is destiny.

Predicting what will be in 8000 years is uncertain. We can't even predict several hundred years into the future. Our forefathers couldn't; we can't either. Just guess. Who knows? Who'll be here to say you were wrong?

0, the planet will be unable to sustain human life by then, and that is assuming that the planet is still here.

there will be no people at all. If we somehow manage not to do ourselves in, the environment will do it for us.
