Randall William "Randy" Rhoads (December 6, 1956 – March 19, 1982) was an American heavy metal guitarist who is best known for playing with Ozzy Osbourne. Despite his short career, he is cited as an influence by many contemporary heavy metal guitarists. A devoted student of classical guitar, Rhoads often combined his classical music influences with his own heavy metal style. While on tour with Ozzy Osbourne, he would often seek out classical guitar tutors for lessons.

He was simply amaxing on "Crazy Train"

It is interesting to note that among the insiders that knew him well, they spoke of Randy wanting to leaving the rock arena before his untimely death and devote himself entirely to the classical music he so loved. We may have all been classical music fans as a result. Thank you for bringing an inspirational musician back to the front of my mind.

YES! awesome guitarist
everytime I listen to the "Dee" outtake on the Tribute album I tear up - haha I'm a sappy girl, but he had so much more living to do and so much more music to make
"Crazy Train" is one of the best examples of his talents
