there is a possibility your ram can be defective. Usually on bad memory installed the computer will issue a series of beeps which is an error due to the POST (Power On Self Test). When installing RAM i've been told that installing it you should keep both memory dimms the same such as 2 512MB to make up 1GB of memory. Mixing them with 1GB and 512GB doesn't work well, that could be why your computer doesn't get past the memory check. Since your 1GB of RAM was installed alone and your pc is not functioning properly that tells me your RAM is probably defective.

There are a pair motives both the RAM isn't similar with the motherboard or yet an additional reason would properly be a scourge. Your computing gadget would have a reboot virus that tells it to reboot after a lot time or once you log in. attempt starting up the computing gadget in secure mode by technique of urgent F8 after starting up the computing gadget and choose secure mode from the menu record. once loaded into secure mode run a scourge experiment with malwarebytes and be conscious if that works.

This happens a lot , People think they get a real good deal from these moons when in fact are getting hosed.
When dealing with electronics of any kind I find that dealing with the top of the line is always the best. In your case, testing and all is done and they will tell you exactly what you need and I guarntee it will work.

Did you check if that RAM is compatible with your motherboard? It's either that, or you have a faulty stick of RAM.
