t = 54/60 = 9/10 or 0.9

to get t on its own you have to divide that side by 60
60t ÷ 60 = t
.. now we have to do the same thing to the other side to keep the equation true giving us;
54/60
... so the equation now is;
t = 54/60
... which can be simplified to;
t = 9/10
or
t = 0.9

60t=54
60t/60=54/60
t=9/10

divide by 60 because you need to get t alone. so divide by 60 on both sides and you get t=54/60 also equal to 9/10
