Today in class i overheard this girl say that she was gonna vote for Hilary Clinton just because she was a woman. I got really upset because she IS a university student and i would think that if she was gonna vote for someone she would do it for political issues not gender. I have nothing against Hilary but if this is what an "educated" person thinks... whats to become of the United States! Voting is a serious issue and thanks to some stupid people we end up with presidents like Bush. My problem is not with Hilary Clinton but with ignorant people like that student!!!!

i agree!! i got so upset that i found a way to bring it up in the class discussion although i didnt mention who had said the comment but thinking she looked cute she said "i said that!!". I was discusted so i said that we live in a very ignorant country if black people vote for Obama and women vote for Hilary. I guess in a way i called her ignorant and she didnt even care.

It is very unfortunate that this is even an issue. I am amazed every day to see how stupid America has gotten. I too would love to see a woman become president, but I would be ashamed to have Hillary represent my country and my sex. I would like to think that people that are as stupid as to say something that stupid would be too stupid to register to vote. When voting and electing a new president you need to look at their political points of view, not their physical characteristics. Its not be about who their father is or who their husband is, its about their plans for our country and our country's survival. If you are reading this and you agree with the ditz that brought this question to mind let me give you something to think about: What would happen if all the women would only vote for a woman and all the African- Americans would only vote for an African- American and all bald guys only voted for bald guys and fat people for fat people and so on and so forth? Well, for one thing, this would be the first election that women would be voting, and the elected president would be elected based on the American Census, not the American opinion. Which to you is most important?!

No. A woman can run our country, but not Hillary Clinton, I want to vote for a president who can run the office and understand and stand true to our Constitution without changing it.
Doesn't anyone remember why Hillary and Bill trashed the White House when they left. Most of the reasons was to hide what they really did. Theft. They did not have a home either, when they left the White House they could not afford to buy a home - the stories were everywhere. Where were you? It was there intention to remain in the White House forever.

Most of the younger women I've spoken to have said they'd vote for her because she's a woman; while most older people I've spoken to have said they'd vote for her because she was a Clinton. People treat this like its all one big popularity contest and it disturbs me that much of our politics is decided on such an immature level. This is why I am getting out of the country. but you can bet that whether her or Obama get the nomination, they'll run on the same ticket. Just wait.

Absolutely not! Gender is a poor qualification for president. Don't be surprised that the girl was a university student. All that means is they can read, write, and come up with tuition money. It's not an indication of great intelligence.

I agree. But I wouldn't vote for anyone because of gender. If they are along the lines of what I look for, that's what is important.

I wouldn't. While I would love for their to be a woman president, I personally don't think she is the right one. I'm much more of an Obama fan.

some examples of whom you describe are the retired white yuppie women people who informed pollsters they might vote for Obama then marked HILLARY as quickly as the curtains have been drawn in the balloting cubicles of latest Hampshire. I additionally keep in mind how Republican women human beings in 1984 "needed they could vote for" Geraldine Ferraro for vice chairman yet could no longer because of the fact she replaced into tied to Walter Mondale.

I agree that this is a serious subject. I won't vote for Obama just because he's black either.

No. I will research each candidate's stances on various issues. It's better to be informed than to blindly vote. You were totally right...she's an idiot.
