My husband is Mexican and his father died when he was 5 and his name was Constantino. It means stable and firm. We have had two miscarriages so far and I was just curious if I was to get pregnant and have a girl if I should name her Constance. When I was pregnant I thought of several ways to name our kid after his father, but wasn't sure how then I seen a tv show and her name was Constance Marie and I thought that was very pretty. I thought about changing the middle name though. Should I do this?

Constance is a pretty name and being named after her grandfather makes the name special, too. I think it is nice to name children after family. I actually really like Constance Marie. I don't care much for Jayde or Abryl with Constance.

I think some names hold a very special meaning to someone, and so when someone says that the name is horrible or is very abrupt and even rude in their answer, they get offended. Also, some people who are on here are quite young or they are pregnant and hormonal or they are even just having a bad day and then they take their frustrations out by arguing I think it is fair to ask an opinion;however, you have to respect the fact that others will disagree with you. You cannot get upset because someone else does not like the name. However, just because you disagree does not mean that only your opinion is valid and right. You have to also use tact and common courtesy when answering. You still have to treat someone with respect, the same way that you would is they were standing right in front of you Also, I think sometimes people forget that this is a global site - and so some things are popular in another country that are not popular in yours, necessarily I personally don't really care what others think about my names, I just ask sometimes as I am curious. If 10 people dislike the name I like, I will still use it. I only get annoyed when people are rude when they answer. Oh, and when people mispronounce names on purpose, even when you prove that they are said a certain way Excuse the long answer

Constance is a lovely name, and a nice way to honor a loved one.
I prefer Constance Jade - or Constance J., in general - to give you the option of using the nickname CJ. The nickname Connie isn't my favorite, but CJ is very appealing. Constance Marie is fine, but not very exciting.
Good luck!

Constance Marie is a nice name. She would have the option of being addressed either as Connie or Marie - an acceptable alternative.
Nothing wrong with "old" sounding; these names aren't archaic at all. They're classics!

Constantine or Constance Marie or even Constantina, or choose a middle name after say your great grandmother or someone special that you've lost. What you have already is a very nice name and a very nice sentiment, in what you are doing for your husband. Good luck.

Constance Marie is a very old fashioned name. I am not sure I like it, but I have a friend named Connie and your child could go by that if you wanted to shorten name.

yeah I would just put Constance because it´s already a long name and if you add Marie it's going to be even longer. Plus probably people won't call her both names they'll just call her COnstance.
