can you please help explain what this is (especially the part about "protection of moral and material interests"

I don't think this is simply your normal "intelectual property" jargan, i think it may elude to something more obscure...

it seems to say that if you perhaps create somthing, you have the right to protect whatever moral or material interests have arisen from that creation or product!?!

That seems a better way of wording it. For example...

If i find a way of scanning human thoughts and memories into a computer, and do so with my own brain, by scanning my own memories into a computer, i now have "authored" or produced something of great importance to the world. However in doing so i have created my self a new set of interests... it is both in my moral and material interests that my every thought and memory, now on a computer and vunerable, should not be seen by anyone while my moral and material interests are able to be affected by such an action...

Clearer... a little far fetched? i'll try somthign similar...

hmmm... you see it's so hard to explain because we can't imagine having this right violated.

Imagine being forced to write a book about cheating on your wife and where you kept your savings... that wouldn't be aloud to happen because of this right... but it's such a basic right, it's hard to imagine it even needs to be written down right?

Or imagine you discover your blood holds the cure for cancer if it's treated with a certain chemical, but because of your religion your not aloud to give your blood... this is what this right supports...

you get me?

I think you need to do some research on "Intellectual Property", which includes patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret. The 1st Amendment is the source of this legal matter.

Sounds like if you invent something, you are entitled to the money or whatever come from it. I'm not sure what they mean by "moral" interests.
