I already have my period, but since then I've been having it for 5 days straight. Is that normal? Or was it only suppose to be 5 days when you FIRST get it? I got mine at the end of May.

There is no absolute number of days that all periods last or are supposed to last. Typically the range is 3 to 7 days, so 5 is perfectly normal. Some people have short periods, some have longer, exceeding 7 days is usually not a good thing, however.

Every woman is different. Normal could be considered anywhere from 3 days to 10 days but there really isnt any measurment since it is different for every one. I think that 5 days is on the light side but that is just because mine usually lasts 8 days. Once you have had you period many times over, you will begin to understand what is normal for you, and that is the only normal you should be worried about, try not to compare yourself to other women or you might go crazy because again, everyone is different.

A woman's period will last anything between 3 days and 7 days. It varies for each person, but typically it will be the same each time -- your health can vary it some.
If your period lasts longer than 10 days, it's time to see the Dr.
It should come once a month (about 28 days from the time it started last month)

there's not a specific number of days that ur period should last.. some girls have 2-3 day periods and some a full week... it jus depends on the girl... ive had my period for the last 5-6 yrs and i last for 5 days... so yea i would say ur pretty normal... when ur period starts lasting for like 2 weeks.. THEN u should see a doctor....

Yes some women have theirs of as few as only 3 days & some (the unfortunate ones) get theirs for 7 days. Anything in between is normal

For the first year of my period, it lasted for around 9 days on average. Four years later it lasts around 7 days. So consider yourself lucky.

it is different form a person to another. normal periods last from4-7 days. for example my period lasts for 6 days my sisters lasts for 7.

If your period last for five days, that is normal. There is some women that their last between three to seven days. It is ok for your period to only last for five day.

no. it doesn't have to last for 5 days. it varies from one woman to another. since it lasts for 5 days for you, then maybe it is normal for you to have it for 5 days.
i think the amount, color and consistency are also considered when determining the normalcy of a woman's monthly menstruation.
better consult an ob-gynecologist for a more scientific answer.
