Naming a child is a very large responsiblity. He or she will carry this name every single day of the next 18 years or more. That is, until he/she is an adult, this name will be their identity so you want it to be one which will not easily embarass or complicate his/her life.
As much as you like the idea of naming a baby Yesterday now, once you are pregnant or have given birth I think you will have other ideas which you will like better. That is how it was with me. Before I was even married, I liked boys' names from other ethnic and religious cultures. They sounded so good! But once I became a mommy I realized those names work best for someone actually from that culture, not just any child whose mother likes it.
Going back to Yesterday as a girl's name, consider the Beatles song "Yesterday." You may think that is a very old song and your baby will never hear it. However, some day one of her classmates will sing it to her. Children of a certain age look for all kinds of ways to make fun of each other and naming a child Yesterday (or any of a number of other words which aren't really meant as names) will make it easy for your child to be the brunt of jokes and teasing play. She may not like that!
Instead, maybe you could choose a name which honors a special person in your life. A name rich with love is the best kind (in my humble opinion). When it is time to name your baby, you will know what to do.

I'm certain most have already touched on how unattractive the "name" is to them, but besides that fact, I simply don't see the point of using a common -- boring -- word in an attempt to find a somehow "unique" name for your child.
Doing so comes across as exactly the opposite, because now he/she (not even sure here) has an oddly familiar WORD as their name, but it's not unique in the least. People say "yesterday" on a daily basis. LOL That's not creative or unusual. Instead, it comes across as about as uncreative as you can get, because rather than seeking out a real name that's actually uncommon, you've chosen to pluck a random -- very common -- word from the dictionary and slap it on a child. So boring and predictable.

The baby would have his/her own theme song. It's a nice name, but for a child? Think twice. Name your cat Yesterday, if you like it. How about Tomorrow? You see, it's utterly ridiculous. Yesterday is a little better, but definitely not a baby name.

Who called you? Yesterday. No I mean earlier. It was Yesterday. I clearly heard you talking to someone who was it? It was Yesterday. oh just forget it, say, who you going out with tomorrow? Yesterday.
AAAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHH!

Kinda means your child would be living in the past!
Also, any kid named Yesterday will have a tough time hanging on to their lunch money.

Since you ask, I do not like the name for a child. They will definitely be teased.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday ... sure. Tomorrow, maybe. But Yesterday implies regret, and I don't think any one would want to put that kind of trip on a kiddo.
For a fictional character, it's fabulous. They don't have to go to middle school. :)

i don't think you should name a child that because the world is getting crueler and crueler and kids take after bad habits like name calling but if you want an exotic name for a child here's one:Yesenia(girl) and Yahir(boy)
