um... please remember that the state of Texas has declared that at least one innocent man has been executed and there are possible two more... what if that was you... o and communist countries dont count

I think the fact that we do need a "Death Penalty", shows that we are not all that civilized as you might think.
We need to speed up the process, faster appeals. Should be less than five years, conviction to execution.
You want Capital Punishment to be a real deterent. Put it on Pay per Veiw so everyone can see it. I will outdraw any boxing event.
Send most of the proceeds to the victims families.
Have a lottery to see who gets to throw the switch. Will have enough entries to pay off the national debt.

CIVILIZE?????? what does civilize even mean in this world. No country is civilize. Their just more civil than other countries thats all. Civil countries would not take away a life that does not belong to them in the first place. It's like stealing something but the difference is you can't give it back. You cannot justify something by killing. You have blood on your hand. It's another form of killing. It's just legal and they make it sound so right that no one even think it's wrong.

We aren't. Where are you getting your facts from? Plenty of other countries utilize capital punishment. USA isn't even top ten. Communist countries still count as "civilized" by the way.

We don't do enough of them.

We don't execute people, we execute filthy criminals. One day one of those thugs will rape,rob, or murder one of the people you love.Then you might see the light.
The only people in this country that are executed are the victims of those vile criminals.
