The Bush presidency?
I also like it when Republicans talk about how Bush is cutting the deficit by "x percent" (whatever it is this year)...
when he was the one that ran up huge deficits early in his presidency, which set the spending standards so high, it would have been hard to keep up with them... but then they compare now to then?
they are basically saying "he's not quite as fiscally irresponsible as he used to be"?

You call it a scam, a con, grifting, hoaxing, swindling, fraud, or a confidence game. Let your virus protection lapse and you'll get 8 million infrections where the "cure" is $20 to buy a program that will remove the infection they themselves gave you! It works the same in the political arena. People want leaders that DO, not just talk. They want robust, sweaty men of action that will jump on a problem, wrestle it to the ground, and defeat it in single combat! That these beasts are always the policitican's own pets never seems to register with the public. Obviously if you created the problem then you know the best way to fix it. Don't ask a GM engineer to fix your Subaru. At least that's what they keep telling me....

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.
