The things you hear about macs vs. PCs are often outdated in my opinion, though they were true in the past. Macs are pretty much universally better than PCs on everything, perhaps, than price. PCs do tend to be cheaper. However, the new iMacs are incredibly thin, the laptops are thin, light, and fast, the display for the Mac Pro are great. In terms of software, Macs do have a limited selection for in some areas, but for Mac OS X Tiger, there is a which lets you run programs like you would on Windows, and in about 7 days, a new version of OS X will be launched which has this feature build in. In short, BUY A MAC. They are thin, great displays, they look great, on or off, and they will run ANY windows or OS X based program you can find!

Mac. All the way. Mac. I used both Macs and PCs for years, and Mac is the way to go, you won't regret it. Anyone who says you can't run PC programs on a Mac doesn't know what they are talking about. You simply purchase a program called Parallels, and you can run any PC program. Macs are more reliable, faster, way more user friendly. They just make sense. Macs are not just good for photo, sound, etc....the programs are extremely easy to use, and you will quickly find that any PC programs you were used to before can be replaced with much better Mac ones. But like I said if you cant live without a certain program, no worries you can still run it. The security is much better too. I have never been hacked, or had a virus NEVER.

Get a Mac. It all depends on your career but I have art and marketing degrees and I survived on a Mac. I used it for both fields. I love Mac's not only for the bundled software, but also the user friendly OS. It makes doing design work so much easier. I also have a Tablet PC and I hardly ever use it just because the mac does most everything I need. You can even put Windows on the new Mactel machines so you can have the best of both worlds. It's a no-brainer to me, less worries about getting viruses as well. People spend so much money and time protecting their computer attacks that they never get to fully enjoy it. With a Mac it's always enjoyment.

More promoting, an improved advertising and marketing crew, realistic layout, homogeneity. PC is well-nigh any laptop now not a mac, and of direction they'll run the gamut in satisfactory/cost/layout. Therefore the one factor that Macs rather have over each and every PC is that they may be able to run Apple proprietary application. There's additionally an photo factor that I'm noticing with Macs. Due to their branding and promoting Macs are recognized as "cooler" than their PC counterpart in exact subcultures. I'm on account that plenty of you set down 'virus unfastened' as one of the crucial essential professionals of a mac. That nonetheless has to do with the Unix situated running approach run at the Mac as a substitute than the Mac itself. If PC customers are so willing, they may be able to additionally get an epidemic unfastened running approach in one of the crucial many Linux flavors.

Im a PC guy, but if I had some cash to spend today I would definately buy a Mac.

Most of the software available for PCs is available on Macs.

For the software that isn't, Macs can boot into Windows now, using Apple's Boot Camp software.

If money is no object, theres no good reason to not get a Mac in my opinion.

Since price isn't an issue, I say get a Mac. I love Macs, but both computers work as well as the other. The thing I like about Macs is the interface is more fun.

Macs are a lot better than windows unless your gaming....Macs are better in every aspect except for software compatibility...then there's more software for windows...there is one other OS better than Mac for PC known as Linux but that has even less software...but still good for music and internet, and word processing...oh and a good pack of software thats better than Microsoft Office is this one called Open Office...you'll need open office if u don't want to waste an extra $100...

I agree with the majority of your responders so far - get a Mac.

But even some of them say "Macs cost more ..."

Here's the truth. Feature for feature and quality for quality, Macs DO NOT cost more. It's just that Apple doesn't make junk assembled out of the cheapest components available.

And over the life of your computer - they call it TCO, "Total Cost of Ownership," Mac's cost LESS!

I think you already know what you're going to do ...

MAC...(although a bit more expensive)...they ...Apple ensures total compatibility of peripherals and software drivers before release...unlike Microsoft...and their patch of the day club...their OS is virtually virus and hack proof...the downside is you will be limited to some add on items.....you CAN run most PC software......And the OS is just a bit different than windows...similar principal...just different.....xp = xtra problems ...vista..isn't much better...a pain in the butt with security pop-ups every time you try to do something....MAC OS is nicer looking ..I Think...vista AERO is WAY overrated....just my opinion...do some research...good luck.
