Has anyone found an effective way to deal with the narcissists that unfortunately come into their lives. I have enountered a couple of them over the last two years and it has taken a toll on me. I tried the avoidance approach when dealing with the first one but I ended up getting extremely frustrated and angry. In the second case, I was going to try the avoidance approach but it backfired because the day I was going to try that approach, I ended up verbally attacking her with sarcasm so she got to play victim and plus her daughter, who also works for the company was around when this happened so the narcissist got to put up the boundary by saying that she wouldn't allow me to disrespect her or her daughter when I finally went to management to complain about the whole working situation. I'm still very angry about all of this even though I no longer work at this place. Has anyone else found effective ways of coping with these people.

I have! Its just not easy, which is actually the fun of it. BUT its almost, not quite, the same as what most religious sects do, its non-argumentive, thats the secert. Finding a non confonational, non-argumentive, fact of the matter, and if you can, strait from the heart way, to tell them what their doing is wrong. Becuase what they do is wrong, their thinking, their actions, their beliefs, most narcisstic people have a crisis of one, understanding and the biggest one you can attack, PURPOSE! So if you have a purpose your actually confident about you can use that agianst them IF its better then the way their living. Me personal have some big ideals, understandings, and perceptions of this world so I can just wack that over some ignorant egotist head real quick. You need to do a little bit of soul searching to figure out for yourself, how fundementaly wrong they are. A secert is listen to everything they say, don't get angry! Their giving you some fuel for the fire your going to lay down on them, and just attack with common sense! It actually works realy good, were at the least they'll never talk to you agian, and at the most you'll actually teach them something. But you have to guide it with something are else you start being the narcist, so get a purpose and educate them on it..... the trick actually is the way you do it, really, helps to have some deeper motives thou....
