Use the Royal Mail website - it has a postcode checker on there xxx

Post office website has a feature to allow you to search for a post code (UK).
You must register I think and then you can only check something like 10 per day to stop big companies exloiting the service.

I just put it into multimap! It soon tells you if the code is invalid.
