I agree, social anxiety. Not that its a terrible thing, some people are just like that. As long as it doesnt bother them, so what?

They would possibly be a person that could be introverted, when you say quiet at school and outings (that is the sign) but also a tad extroverted (because of loudness at home), the traits signal a little introversion maybe because of shyness. These may be known as situational variables, where a person adapts and behaves depending upon where they are and in who's company.

Well, that pretty much describes me. I am quiet at school and in public because.....well, i guess i don't want to act like the loud person I am at home so people don't get the wrong impression of me at first.

It means u r more comfortable being urself at home than in public. Probably, u r not to sure of how others will accept u so u let loose when u r at home. Learn 2 be comfortable with who u r and if others don't like it OH WELL>

they feel intimidated whilst away from their "comfort zone" (their home)
and feel safer staying away from the limelight whilst gathered in a group of people they hardly know.
They are often the people that you eventually hear someone saying about them "they really have came out of their shell since such and such happened"
there is nothing wrong with them, they just feel out of sorts around people they do not really know.
I am the toal oposite, at home I'm quiet and keep myself to myself, at school, I never, ever shut up lol

That sounds like me lol! It can be social anxiety- some people feel more comfortable around people they know really well like their family, and a bit nervous and shy at school. I feel more comfortable at home, because I feel like there's no one there to judge me, like there is at school.

it just means your a bit shy, you need to get to know your soroundings and people around you better. over time you will be more outgoing once you get to know ppl more, you just need a little push to get you there, say hi to every one you see in the hall, or smile, there is a 99% chance they will smile back! also talk to the person standing next to you inline say something like "great mystery chillie today....i dont want to know what the mystery is!" then ask if its okay to sit with them at their table with them...you'll be surprized how quickly you can make friends once you stop hiding in your shell

it means that they're shy, like they could only be loud at their homes, but when they expose themselves to the publci, they get socially inept.

They aren't in touch with themselves around others. They need to be more social in a social enviornment.
