1ml of water = 1 g of water (this is probably what was messing you up)(Also the only compound with this ratio)

1L H20 x 1000mL H20/1L H20 x 1g H20/1mL H20=1000g H20

1000g H20 x 1 mol H20/18g H20 (Molecular Weight)= 55.55mol

55.55 mol H20 in 1L of H20

Atomic weights: H=1 O=16 H2O=18

1LH2O x 1000gH2O/1LH2O x 1molH2O/18gH2O = 55 moles H2O

look up the density of water it will be a number whose units is grams per mililiter. turn that no. of grams to mols by dividing it by the molar mass of water which you get from the periodic table of elements by looking up H and H and O and adding their atomic masses together.
(grams of water)/(molar mass of water)=mols of water. multiply by a thousand, now, to change mols/ml to mol/liter and this is the answer.
