This is supposedly an ID card that you are supposed to carry around at all times. I think It may have a GPS chip in it to track people's movements around the world. i know it sound Orwellian but its the truth.

People are supposed to carry things like driver's license, sometimes social security cards, etc with them for the use of tracking people's movements. I don't think it's any1's business what someone is doing or where they are going. It's called privacy. A number of states oppose this such as Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington have joined Maine in passing legislation opposing Real ID

This is one more attempt at creating a police state in the U.S.A., which has been an objective of Dick Cheney since before he was elected Vice-President.
There are many things the Bush administration has done without public outcry:
a) Virtually eliminated the Posse Comitatus Act of 1879, which theoretically allows Bush to declare martial law without the consent or approval of Congress;
b) The number-one non-military 'benchmark' in Iraq which forces the Iraqi Parliament to surrender two-thirds of its oil fields to foreign OIL companies, literally allowing firms like Exxon-Mobil and others to STEAL Iraq's most valuable economic resource;
c) The construction of fourteen new permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq;
d) The passing of Amendment 3017 by the U.S. Senate which gives Bush justification to go to war with Iran;
e) Non-public meetings with the President of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada to form the North American Union which would make the U.S., Mexico and Canada one large country with its own currency, the Amero;
f) The construction of the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad overlooking the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration.

The I.D. card is a reality; it's a clear violation of privacy laws and has no real purpose other than to keep 'track' of all U.S. citizens. It's a dangerous threat to Americans' freedom. I, for one, will refuse to be issued a card even if it means a restriction of my livelihood. This is an outrage, and will only lead to the ultimate formation of a totalitarian dictatorship in this nation. -RKO- 10/18/07

Every time you log on the internet, call someone, use your credit card you're being tracked. Most people have a kind of photo ID that they carry with them. If you like you can freak out Big Brother and just walk around in circles so they can track your cute little pattern.

Libertarians are talking about it. And have been talking about it for a very long time.
Not the party, the libertarians.

I don't think there is a "REAL ID" you refer to in the Bush works. It reminds me tho of the people who are all upset over having to show a picture ID to vote. Bunk ! They only show it to one precinct worker....that's all. SInce Democrats are upset
over voting machines, pregnant chads, dimples, and every
vote counting, they should be the first ones to agree with photo
ID. The time has come for it since there's so much voter
fraud anymore (dead people voting, people that moved 10
years ago, etc).
