How is communism linked to the Industrial Revolution? Also, how many people were killed during the time that Stalin ruled Russia?

Communism is linked to the Industrial Revolution in the philosophy of Trotsky and Lenin. The idea of "dialectical materialism", which is embodied in the concepts espoused by Karl Marx in Das Kapital, a book which was incomprehensible until Freddie Engels got a hold of it, purportedly was the harbinger encompassed in the philosophy of Mao and the Red Book, which has very little to do with the Communism of Marx. The economies of the world have been effected by three major revolutions:(1 Agricultural Revolution--the invention of the Cotton Gin(2 Industrial Revolution--the invention of the automobile(3 Informational Revolution--the invention of the computer.
Communism is linked with the Industrial Revolution with respect to the production of steel. Hence, the building of bridges and sky-scrapers in the competition with Capitalism. There were hundreds of thousands killed during the Purges of Stalin, An exact number has yet to be determined.
