The UN and its leadership believes in a socialist society and not a capitalist one. The betrayal of the United States began long before Iraq war number two. For instance we went to war because the UN's own resolutions were not being enforced. They ignored their own resolutions to the determint of Saudi Arabia, Israel and others in the region.

I think your question should be, "When did the US betray the UN?" that would be more accurate,

It was Roosevelt that put forward the idea of the UN, in 1943, in the idea of the former "League of Nations" which also collapsed because of US collusion and interference.

Truman when he took power started violating many of the aspects of the UN charter and also many of the international agreements on aspects of UN activities following WW-2. The US allowed Japanese military to be rearmed along with the Japanese Secret Police and Korean Collaborators in Korea so they could help suppress dissidents against the violations in the south because the US would not allow national elections to take place. The US also created the "republic of South Korea" in violation of the UN charter and the Potsdam and Cairo agreements.

Truman also created the "Republic of Germany", also in violation of the UN charter and the Potsdam and Cairo agreements.

Eisenhower violated the 1954 Geneva Agreements on Indochina by sending in, in 1954, CIA operatives into the north to blow up national infrastructure ( railway lines, coal stores and oil refineries and factories) plus run an anti-communist scare campaign amongst the Catholics in the north causing a mass exodus to the south of Catholics. He also installed the right-wing dictator, Pres. Ngo Diem, a Catholic in a country of 85% Buddhist people. The US also started building up arms and training of the troops in the south in violation of the Geneva agreements and created the "Republic of South Vietnam", in violation of the 1954 Geneva Agreements and the UN charter.

The UN from the outset was never supposed to be a rubber stamp for US policy, but world forum in which all views could be given equal weight, in the general assembly but the real weight was always in the security council, only since the rise of talk radio punditry has UN been viewed as anti- American, as world body it should not be pro-anyone or anti-anyone, when founded in San Francisco in 1945. US policy is far more aggressive after the Soviet Union collapsed and as we get more aggressive the UN tries to balance that, like it or not that is what it was designed to do.

In which way is the UN obligated to the USA? or, for what matters, to any other member?

You're just admitting something that the UN and the USA denied for years. That the UN has been ruled by the top most powerful members and used against whoever they agreed to go after.

The UN is a disgrace and all the countries should walk away from it. It's a waste of valuable resources.

It started back in the 40's.

That's why present day Democrats Support the UN, and also Betray the USA.
It's a "Joint Effort".
