My mom and dad have always pushed me to get straight A's. I'm in 8th grade this year and my mom said if i tried my best and got B's she would be fine with it. (she promised me) So heres what i got on my report card:

Math: 98
Reading: 97
Science: 96
Social Studies: 86
Writing:98

She got so angry when she saw the B, and it wasn't even a low B. I got yelled at and everything!!!!

What would make her yell at me like this if she said i was allowed to get B's this year? I only got one B!!!

Both my parents are teachers. They aren't school drop outs

I'm not sure about where you live, but in my school 86 is an A- maybe your mum was having an off day and took it out on you.

My parents used to do the same thing. She probably just wants you to be the best- and mom's are expecially tough on their daughters because they want us to be more than they were. A lot of our mothers were not encouraged to do more than become housewives, or do some other jobs. She probably just is pushing you so you'll have even more opportunities than she did. Know that she does it because she loves you. Oh, and one other thing. A lot of times parents will say something, and then change their minds for no apparent reason... I'm not sure why.

Wow, if you were in Canada, you'd be a straight A student. Over here, anything over 80 is an A. Perhaps the marking system here is different, but even so, I don't see anything wrong with your marks.

Explain to her that school is a lot harder, and it's definitely not what it used to be when she went to school. It took you a lot of effort to get those marks, and remind her that she was the one that said she'd be okay with B's.

well in my state that is a low B. B's only go from 85-92
93-100 is an A but other than that you did really good! i know you mom might get mad sometimes. and im sure you try to make her happy all the time! but sometimes when i get a grade my moms not so happy about, i explane to her what happened and how im going to do better. and sometimes shes still mad. then i try not to let her bring me down. I start telling my self i tryed my hardest and i did good!

so i know sometimes you cant always make your mom happy but as long as you know you did good then youll be fine. just always try your hardest and your teachers will see that then tell your mom.

GOOD LUCK GIRL!!

:( sorry to pay attention approximately your mom! yet you may desire to understand your mom probable needs a dating, you cant extremely end her. think of the form you will possibly experience in case you enjoyed this guy and your mom reported you couldnt see it. while the guy she likes is going, basically tell her the form you experience. Im particular she will have the potential to understand and you will parent some thing out between you wish each and every thing seems ok sweetie x

I think she has high expectations for you, and seems to think that you can do better. (Can you?) But regardless, next time you might want to draw up some sort of contract with your parents (in writing) so you can ALL review it later at the appropriate time. In the meantime, it sounds like you are doing well, and working hard- KEEP IT UP! You'll make everyone proud!

i think they got a bad day because your writing is vary good same with social and i don't see no problems with the marks your getting. now what i do is just remind her that she promised that you get those marks for her. My son gets the same marks but his math is really on the down side with a 76 but what i see here is perfect.

she may have thought that bacause of the high averages in the other classes that if u can do it in those subjects then u could in that one subject. just ask her about it and explain to her not al classes have the same level of difficultly.
