You'll only piss him off by tip-toeing around the subject. Don't try to do a song and dance. Just tell him the truth, tell him you're sorry (and act like you're sorry), and tell him you know that he needs to punish you for it. Then don't do it again.

You admit to lying and tell the truth about how you spent the day. Then accept whatever discipline that he decides on. Once you have done this you and he will feel better as he probably knows you weren't in school and knows you have already lied to him. Schools have a tendency to call parents and ask why their child isn't in school. so tell the truth and accept responsibility for your actions.

Stop trying to cut corners. Your dad will find out one way or another--trust me--I've been in situations like that and my mom always finds out.

Go up to your dad when he's not busy and say "Dad, I know you're going to be really mad when I tell you this, but I skipped school on [day of the week]. I know how wrong it was to skip school and I know that it was even more wrong to lie to you. I'm so sorry, but I wasn't able to keep that to myself. I feel awful for lying to you and I'm willing to accept whatever punnishment you have to give me. I want you to be able to trust me, and I realize after this it may be a little while, but I promise I'll do my best to tell you the truth from here on out."

By saying this, you'll show that you reazlie you did something unnacceptable and you're willing to fix it and own up to the fact that you lied to him. You're saying that you're willing to accept a punnishment which you'll probably recieve. And you're also saying that you don't want your dad to feel he can't trust you. Every father wants to trust his child, so he'll appriciate this.

Good luck.

Start from the very 1st of your lie and put all truth in there- chances are he will get mad at 1st but he will be glad that you told him the truth.

You have to tell the truth. It will hurt, and it will hurt him knowing that you've lied.... but the only way to re-gain his trust is to let it all out, and be totally honest. Take your licks and apologize, then go forward again. Remember, Dads always have a way of finding out things, regardless.....
Good luck!

I feel you need to be completely honest with your Dad. You also need to be in obedience to him, and to the school rules. You will NEVER REGRET making good choices, my friend. I sincerely wish you the very best in your life........be a good kid, and also, try to find some Christian friends, and a Bible teaching church. God loves you, and so do I. It is hard growing up with rules, but adults have rules too. You are just in training to be an adult someday. I hope and pray that you will be truthful and honest, that your Dad will understand, and that you will get your life on the right track. BEST WISHES to you !!! My heart goes out to you.....be brave, and be strong.

you really want to tell your parents that i would be mad at my son if he skips school but he don't. my son likes school so much and you should too. education is important and without it you will get a bad job and wont make much money.
