I heard about a carnival before advent... or was it lent?
What is it and why is it celebrated?
Please tell me where you got the info.

Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is the day before Ash Wednesday that starts the penitential season of Lent.

This is called Carnival in Brazil and Italy.

We party and eat a lot before we start to fast and pray for 40 days.

With love in Christ.

You are talking about the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, which is always the Tuesday before Lent.
