It can't come from the lymphatic system as it's drainage/refuse. Nor the blood system for that just doesn't make sense and the blood seems too valuable.... So, does it come from the stomach? Well then it should taste of hydrochloric acid and it doesn't, it tastes of alkaline. So where's it come from?

I can try and help you,but this must be some kind of question for school, because I just finished this chapter.Ready? Their are three pairs of salivary glands, which by the way all this happens from your digestion system, one is called parotids, submandibulars, and the sublinguals secrete most of your saliva produced each day. Saliva is mostly water, but also contains mucous and digestive enzyemes that aid in the digestiive process.the water in the saliva helps to liquefy the food as it is chewed. Other wise think of saliva as one of those waterfalls you buy and the water just goes round and round it produces water from your stomach. Hope this helps !!!!

Saliva is part of the digestive system, and is produced in your mouth, like you said, in the tiny salivary glands (you can't see). It's the second part of digestion...the first is chewing your food...or "mastication".
