CFB makes a good point: comparing America to Nazi Germany is idiotic. Nazi Germany at least was upfront about its objective: to create a pure Aryan state.
The Bush administration, on the other hand, hides behind a cloak of fear and paranoia, convincing people that it has their best interests at heart. Wave the flag and thanks be to God!
Sinclair Lewis once said: "When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross."

Adolph Hitler once said: "How fortunate for governments that the people the administer don't think."

We're closer to fascism than some would like to believe. But we'll keep rooting for George and Dick, keep believing that their 'war' has honorable purpose, and keep hiding in fear of those 'terrorists' from that unknown 'evil empire'! It's a "Star Wars" extravaganza as the "empire" strikes back and we go on allowing wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers to become wealthier and more powerful while 675,000 Iraqi citizens die and 3,800 U.S. soldiers sacrifice their lives for nothing more than OIL and WAR PROFITEERING.
One day we'll get up off the couch, put down the remote, only to wake up and find ourselves citizens of a fascist totalitarian dictatorship. But, like lobsters languishing in a pot of lukewarm water, we won't start screaming in agony over our apathy until the water boils over. Then it will be too late. -RKO- 10/18/07

1. What civil liberties are being curtailed? The ability to secretly communicate with terrorist enemies? Was that ever a civil liberty? 2. Due process and fundamental rights have not been curtailed in the least. Habeas corpus has not been eliminated at all for Americans arrested in America. 3. Mail was always open to search without warrant due to exigent circumstances. Wiretaps are only on foreign-initiated calls from numbers of interest (suspected terrorists), but I do believe you've missed the truth about reading e-mail or searching houses without warrants - there are sneak&peek warrants, where you are not alerted to the search. But all of these ARE legal. 4. The signing statements are not unconstitutional at all, they are merely a clarification of the law as it is understood, because he is expected to enforce that law. It doesn't change the law. This is just anti-Bush hysteria, not fact. 5. The only people who have been detained indefinitely are enemy combatants, illegal ones at that. They've never had the right to counsel or trial. 6. He's done more to balance our rights with our national security needs than any predecessor, nor has he violated them. Illegal combatants captured on the battlefield in a foreign nation have NEVER been protected by these rights. So, a factless and dull rant, full of the falsehoods and hysteria promoted by the Neo-Democrat left.

He is neither an Emperor or Dictator so the answer would have to be no. The American people themselves are fascist. They give regard to race, religion and national gender along with income.
A prime example of this would be the illegal aliens. Americans no matter what color their skin have serious issues with them, thus the socio-economic rule for Americans come into play here.

The Bush administration TRIED to turn the USA into Germany 2. They were stopped, not by the democrats, but by enough people shouting "ENOUGH" for long enough. Most of Bush's henchmen have jumped ship and he's become the lamest of lame duck presidents. It looks like we're safe for a little while longer.
