Oh, that is just horrendous! Yep, I'm a member of the mashup haters as well.

The first time I heard one I thought my brain had finally crapped out on me. The only one I heard in heavy rotation was The Doors/Blondie mashup and that had my gag reflex going every 2 seconds.

I did laugh pretty hysterically at that Halloween Morrissey mashup : ) so at best they are good for a hearty chuckle.

Hate them with a passion. This is the music equivalent of putting ketchup on ice cream. Two good things DON'T always need to go together. A lot of the electronica artists were big into this at first but now it appears the infection has spread to rock. One small exception: there was this one that combined the Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Cheated Hearts with Porno For Pyros - Tahitian Moon. That was OK, but the concept is right on par with an industry that is struggling to come up with new ideas.
