ok this is my case. my kids father DOES HELP OUT the best he can. He left me and lives w/ another girl. I was upset and opened a CS Case. We havent had the initial review process but i wanted to close the case. I called to close they asked y? i said we are going to work out something on our own. they said ok that would be fine the only thing is, is that my child was on medicaid so they cant close the case with a child on medicaid. the only way to do it is by the child getting off medicaid. so i was gonna take my child off and cover him on my insurance at my new job. they say if we dont come to the review process it will go to the court and have to appear. But ive opened a case before and just never responded back to the CS offices or anything and they close the case on there own. THERE IS NO WAY TO CLOSE CASE W/OUT HAVING TO GO THRU THE PROCESS OF CANCELING MEDICAID AND ALL OF THAT MESS I'VE CREATED.

it is correct that because your kid is on medicaid the cs issue is now out of your hands..they will proceede with or without you because the state wants to get paid back for some of the medical expenses..when a person with a child goes on anytype of government assisstance the government then goes after the non custodial parent for child support
added to answer your second question: even if you drop the medicaid you are still on foodstamps so the case will go on nomatter what you want..you are on government assisstance with foodstamps also and any type of government assisstance they will go after the other parent

Boy, this guy has you trained. Complete the support case. Some day his girlfriend (current or future) will get tired of the financial drain child support is having on her life style and will talk him in to not paying any more. If you don't have a case then you start from scratch. Right now the state is willing to pay to make it happen. When he stops you may not qualify for their help.

Support will be set based on your income and his income. They use support tables to calculate how much he should pay. This is what is fair.

By the way, since they have already spent money on your child and the father has not paid his share yet you will not be able to stop them. They will go after him for his share anyway.

Once Medicaid is involved the Government is
involved.
The Court will probably not monitor payments to you
unless you complain they're not coming though.
