Aren't the Superdrug staff in a complete league of their own? You should be grateful you found one at a checkout, they are normally chatting each other up in the aisles instead of stacking the shelves everytime I go in !!!! You are right, your eyelids will clearly be located directly on the facial region and you should have therefore asked to take the matter up with the Store Manager (who would probably be of an age not exceeding 16½ yrs)

I know this post was done 7 years ago but may I just add that all shop staff are not thick or idiots. We are all trying to make a living like everyone else. In any sector/job you will always have the not so 'competent' staff. As for the advertising, we are paid to put it out. We don't make it and we can't change it. If there is a problem with it (it states a wrong price) then yes we can change it but if the buyer is confused y the offer or it is misleading then you have to speak to the customer relations team as this is not our fault in store. Some people will always have a bad experience with customer service as I have too but others will have a really good one. I am to give the best customer service I can to every customer and i am sure if you came to the store I work in you would get nothing but the best.
Rant over :)

To be honest, the problem wasn't the staff, it's the offer as facial products don't include eye or lip, it's not them being rude, it had been specified, so to be honest it's not them being thick at all, it's just confusion and the offer not being obvious enough.
However, Superdrug staff are generally idiots, I complained to their head office the other week because I tried to buy a make up base from their GOSH range, and there was only one and it'd been opened and used so I approached the staff, extremely politely, and asked if there was another one I could buy. The lady didn't even look at me, and drawled 'it's the end of the day, either buy that or go home'. Charming! The complaint did nothing, I got an e mail from a bona fide idiot with an incorrectly spelt apology.
I think it'd be worth mentioning, I mean, I think you were a little unfair on the staff, but you could e mail collection 2000 and complain and they may send you a voucher for free eyeliner as an apology...I mean, a lady at Clinique in Selfridges was rude to me once and they sent me a foundation worth £38! Bonus!

This was asked ages ago but I've just read it and I've seen that 'the staff are thick' at Superdrug, I work at Superdrug, and no, the staff aren't thick, the promotions that we have on aren't very clear, so it isn't anyone's fault so in actual fact it would be down to the brand not the staff.
Eye makeup is, mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow & eyebrow pencils.

For starters I think you lot are the 'stupid' ones for thinking that staff in a high street store have influence over the company's special offers. Maybe instead of being so far up your own arses you could all stop for a second and think that maybe the offers are run by a computer system that for obvious reasons staff cannot have access too, and that we don't all stand at the tills applying every special offer ourselves. Seriously people, did your mothers all raise you to sit behind your keyboards judging other human beings because of the job they choose to do just because in your uneducated opinion its not as 'important' as your own.
And for the idiots information that stated all the managers are '16', im 22 and im a Store Manager, I have done 2 different degrees at University and have worked my **** off to be were I am today, in a job that I am very happy with working for a company that puts my talent before my age.
God help your children you bunch of stuck up, judgemental, uneducated idiots.

@moopet44, "shop staff ppl r thick". you are illiterate. I ve also got two degree s and I m a store manager of Superdrug at the age of 23. As Ben has already stated, "shop staff ppl" do not make the offers. Many managers would change the price of a product is the customer has been confused by the promotional signs, however, being rude doesn t get you anywhere because it s down to the managers discretion. We do not have to change the prices of products, and we still abide by Trading Standards. Be more kind, it may get you somewhere! :-)

That is really misleading.. But totally legal amazingly! Eyeliner is counted as for the eye area... The have a bunch of eye products. Foundations, concealers, blushers etc are used as facial products! It's all really daft and I'd have kicked up a massive fuss about imporper labelling! Go to a different store and try it! Shout loud enough and they give in!

face make up means makeup that is supposed to enhance the SKIN. foundation, concealer, highlighter, blusher etc.
eyeliner is EYE make up, ie, for the eyes
its quite simple really...
'face' is often used as a synonym for 'skin' in beauty products, like facewash, facewipes etc.
