I already have the ethernet connection and so far I have not had any success on making the thing work. I'm sure there is something I missed.

If you have a router, it allows local network. If not you either need to use a cross-over cable or a switch and 2 standard cables. You will also need to manually configure all your tcp/ip.

Your 2 XP computers should be plugged into a "switch". Hubs are history.

The IP's of the two computers need to be on the same subnet, and it will be most helpful if they are in the same workgroup.

Just buy a Router...as Simple as that...you can connect up to 4 computers ( in most routers) and have wireless in case you need it...Hope i helped

if u have two computer u can directly connect them without hub,outer or switch.all u have to use is cross cables.
