The world's more of an ellipse. Because the earth is spinning so fast and our gravity isnot strong enough to keep it all balled up, the earth has a bit of a bulge around the center. It would take longer to fly around the equator than it would flying at the same speed to fly across the prime meridian, if that helps you visualize it.

It is an oblique sphere. Think of a ball with the top and bottom flattened a little towards the equator. The reason why it is a little flattened is because the Earth is spinning.

It's a sphere....if were to look at it from space it would look a little egg shaped, very little, (on its side) from the moon pulling on the tides.

not perfectly spherical - but close .. i'm sure you can find exact measurements via Google ... remember though, the shape of the Earth actually changes slightly on a daily basis - though I suspect it will be irrelevant to your purposes for asking.
