Think of it this way... if you used a cannon to fire a cannonball, would you expect the cannon to be knocked back from the force of the blast? Would you expect whatever the ball hit to be knocked back? Of course you would.

The same thing happens with a smaller ball, just to such a proportionately smaller degree that you're not likely to notice it unless you're in space or something.

Yes if you throw the ball straight up, the normal force on the body contacting the ground increases by the mass of the ball time the rate of the ball's accleration.
