I met a ver trustworthy guy in Havana last week on my first visit. He is about to open up a resturant and I asked him if I could be a partner? He accepted. Now we just need to know if the paper work can be drawn up legally in Cuba? The investment is very small, so I'm not worried about loosing money. But I would prefer it if it's all legal and on paper.
Has any one ever done a partnership in a private business in Cuba? Please advise.
Thanks.

If he is the owner of a restaurant, he cannot bring in a foreign partner.

Foreigners can only be opartners with Cuban companies - which all belong to the Cuban government.

The law covering foreign investment in Cuba is here http://www.geo.unipr.it/~davide/cuba/economy/LAW95/index.html

Not likelly.... besides how will you be able to control or see what happens there if you are not going to be there personally as much often as you need to ?, as a previuos owner of a restaurant , I tell you , you need to be there at least to know what is going on, unless you move permanently over there which I doubt...my humble advise ... dont do it ..
