Did Kate McCan accidently kill Madeleine with and unprescribed overdose of sedative?

I think Kate accidently overdosed her child on non-prescribed sedatives which sadly killed her. The fact that she left a child this young on her own while she went out partying speaks a lot of her as a person. In Britain social services would be contacting her in such a situation as it is illegal and amoral for a parent.


Her profile as a snappy, self satisfied and impatient doctor who has shown no genuine emotion all along makes her the main suspect in my mind. On all her television apperances and photographs over the months she tends to look down and away from the camera, as does her husband. Many behavioural experts say this is a common subconscous reaction from someone who is guilty or lying.

Still there is not likely to be enough evidence so she will walk free. What do the rest of you think?

Every time a child goes missing on televison I have witnessed a seen of great emotions, with tears and hysteria, "bring back my baby" all over the place ,except for the case of the McCans interview. Also you have to consider the inconsistencies of all the witnesses and the fact that Kate didn't contact the police for 90 minutes after she discovered her missing. And the fact a witness claimed on Dispatches last night that Kate said "someone has taken her". How did Kate know?

Experienced doctors are used to dealing with many people, public speaking and the media. They are rarely camera shy. Gerry McCan's tone of voice in interviews comes across as confident. His eye movements and non verbs suggest to me he is ashamed of something and I study NLP.

Kate in a recent interview changed her story yet again and reported that she knew maddy had been taken because a cuddle cat had been placed up high, Indicating that the abductor must have done so!

Please then some one explain what this woman has been doing handling this vital evidence for several weeks, and in a recent interview she even states she has washed it.
These types of inconsistent statements and ludicrous acts to destroy any possible evidence in her daughters abduction do not add up, sequence of events as follows.

If you were an abductor after breaking in to a sleeping childs room to do just that, abduct her, would you not just throw "cuddle cat"out of the way. I would imagine and that is all I can do, that if they were in the midst of taking a child why would they stop to put a teddy up on a high shelf instead of just moving it aside, this seems a bit strange to me?

Gotta say I kinda agree with you on this one...things just don't seem to add up with those two...their too emotionally detached from it all. I'd never leave a child alone both in the UK or abroad so i could have my own social life, its not what being a parent is about, you have children, so them and their safety should come first!!! Its a terrible tragedy that a little child is missing and even worse that things seem to be leading to her own flesh and blood over her disappearance....its a sick and sad world we live in if people can do this to their own children isn't it? Time will tell and hopefully justice will come.

I think that the biggest problem in this case is the speculation and the fact that there has been so much speculation around by the media that none of us really knows what are the facts and what has been made up by the tabloids.

In addition, there are many, many hotel / resorts in the UK that encourage you (or at least did encourage you) to leave your young kids asleep in your hotel room and dine in the hotel restaurant with only a baby listening device available. They were having dinner, not partying. They weren't clubbing downtown for goodness sake.

I can also, honestly say, that I would have difficulty looking into a camera as I am camera shy and find it difficult enough to have my photo taken.

I just pray that Maddie is found and that the truth does come out instead of the horrible media frenzy that we have at the moment. Otherwise, no matter what the outcome, there will always be an opposing camp who believe that someone else got away with it.

dont read too much into body language, i have a nervous reaction to public places which makes me scratch my nose and rub my eyebrows, both supposed signs of lying so what is it i am supposed to be lying about when im on my own and not talking to anyone. i am also a staff instructor at work and when i have to do presentations to teach staff i am absolutely fine and have no nervous twitches at all. if you watch these news reports where they wheel out the senior chief of police to describe the crime he talks like a 6yr old and uses 4 different sentences to describe the same thing, and they are supposed to be experts in communications, just because kate is a doctor doesnt mean she is a faultless public speaker.
No one knows whether they are guilty or not. the reason there are so many inconsistencies, and i know you will find this very hard to believe, is because the information we are being fed by the Media is totally supposition on their part. they do not get information from the portuguese police, therefore, they make it up or listen to someone who knows someone who is married to someone who works at the airport and overheard someone talking. The media, these days are not interested in truth, they are interested in catchy headlines which will sell their papers. I havent purchased a newspaper in nearly 10 years because i am at the point where i dont believe one single word they print. not even the tv guide is accurate nowadays.
kate and gerry should be allowed the privacy and peace they so greatly need right now and the police should be allowed to get on with the investigation and if it did transpire that they killed or sold their own baby then they will be damned to hell for all eternity.

I also noticed that she wouldn't look into the camera and this made me suspicious, but while watching the program last night,our lass said that she is very camera shy and would find it hard to look into the camera, especially during such an emotional time. I still have strong feelings there is some things that just dont add up in this case. After watching the program last night, my only conclusion is that this will be one of those cases that is never resolved, as it has gone on to long.

To be honest I don't know what to think, there has been too much media brainwashing for any of us to form any unbiased opinions. The media is clever and it can make us believe whatever it wants us to believe if we a silly enough to take too much notice. I'm not saying it isn't fishy but I do think ever-one who is accusing the Mccann's should back off a little as nobody can know what really happened that night. After all they may be totally innocent and if they are then they have lost their child and they are having to deal with it. Perhaps Kate is one of those emotionally crippled people who finds it very difficult to show her emotions, especially in front of other who she does not know. We do not see them behind closed doors. I really do truly hope that the truth comes out in the end though for the sake of everyone involved.

Agree with you totally, but why did Kate take Cuddle Cat to work with her, that doesn't make sense does it? She said the sniffer dogs must have got the scent from Cuddle Cat because she had been in contact with dead bodies, prior to her holiday.

Oh come on...what would you have said if she'd gone on TV crying and wailing? She's putting it on, over the top etc, no doubt. She can't win, can she?
please tell me exactly how one is supposed to act when one's child has been kidnapped in a foreign country, as you are clearly an expert in the field. How did you behave when this happened to you? Oh, it hasn't? Fancy that. Well, when it does, let us know. Then we can judge you too with no evidence, just hearsay.

Yes a definate possibility, but you have to consider that they are telling the truth. Only time will tell what really happened.
