This is what they said about their relationship in the Thursday Press Conference.
Lewis-I think it’s as good as ever. I think we have got on quite well all year, despite what the media says. They always try to make a big gap between us and they haven’t really succeeded. We just get on quite well and got on with our jobs and we continue to do that.
Fernando-As Lewis said, the media has been saying many many things about us that weren’t true. We never had problems with each other. We are obviously fighting on the track but off the track we have had a very good relationship from day one and it’s still the same.

What took place at the press conference on Thursday is merely an act! I'm sure that both have respect for each other as drivers, but I don't believe that they're the best of friends! Remember, a while back in the beginning when the press started talking about the tension between them, they decided to show everyone that it's false by being all buddy buddy at Indy? Well, after that the talks continued and not one of them denied the stories until now! What Alonso and Hamilton are doing is something that anyone wants to do before someone walks out of their job. If u are going to leave the job that u hate so much, u would want to leave in good terms with those u've worked with and that's exactly what's happening right now!

Nope. Senna and Prost all over again. Alonso is a great driver but with being a great driver comes an ego the size of the 100 million dollar fine mclaren recieved. I think Alonso is jealous of the success and the attention that Hamilton has had this year. The talk has been about a rookie winning the title not the 2 time defending champ going for a 3rd straight title.

I personally believe that Hamilton and Alonso do not hate each other. After Hungary, probably the relationship between them deteriorated a bit, but probably recovered by now, but before that hungary grand prix, i don't know how the media came up with Alonso being jealous of Hamilton. Just because Hamilton was performing well, does not necessarily mean Alonso hates him. Where did the Media come up with Alonso being jealous of Hamilton? Alonso really until now does not have any problems with Hamilton. The media wants them to be enemies.
I agree with Alonso, media has been saying wrong things about his relationship with Hamilton.
But i don't expect to see them to be spending free time with each other.
Maybe Alonso has a problem with the team, not Hamilton.

No... Alonso doesn't like Hamilton because he's a better driver than he is, thus he gets all of the attention... and Alonso wants to be babied, and he want's the possition as #1 Driver, even though Hamilton deserves it.

Definitely not. They may say they're pals for the sake of the team and media but they aren't. After all their spat all season? Fat chance. It's all for show. read their body language carefully and you'll see that they can't really stand being near each other. And I think Alonso may want to leave McLaren to avoid having Hamilton as a team-mate

No. They haven't been getting along well. Lewis once said he'd rather have Alonso in a Ferrari next year. Alonso has complained about the team favouring Lewis. So, obviously they are NOT friends.

i imagine your remark about Alonso being a cheat needs to be clarified. I easily have by no skill idea-about him as a cheat, and may want to be very shocked if he had. There are different international champions who've performed significantly worse, one, case in point, parked his automobile on the race music so Alonso couldn't get pole position. i won't be able to imagine him doing this style of element. i wager you're speaking about the emails on the topic of an worker of Ferrari giving freely personal concepts. To me that isn't dishonest because dishonest is composed of breaking the rules, and at the same time as a rule become damaged, it wasn't damaged by technique of Alonso. with regard to deserving his position at McLaren, he totally advantages it. he's the present international champion.

They have a professional (and respect according to them) relationship with one heck of a competition but I doubt they wanna spend time with each other outside the track or even stand next to one another for that matter!

They are not "real" friends, it is nearly impossible for two people in direct competition with one another for the pursuit of their "lifes work" to be friends. They may not have a bad word to say about one another (although in FA's and LH's case I think they probably do) but they simply can not be friends.
Could you be friends with one of the only people in the world who can deprive you of your life goal/dream.
