It is my belief that dogs,
much like children long for adventure,
because although they are your pets,
they sometimes just get bored
with the family, so they run away.
I think on the back of dry dog food,
they should put lost dogs photos.
Just like they do children's pics on milk cartons.
It might read like this:
name: "Phydeaux"
d.o.b.: 2/24/2005
Last seen in the company of a pack of dogs in our neighborhood. I think it's a gang, lead by a small red Pomeranian.
City/State/Zip: Slidell, La 78625

Some dogs join the circus or even in up exploited, just as children. This is a serious problem, please donate funds to your local animal shelter.

When we had dogs on the farm, they were never chained, fenced or tied up so they could roam the fields for rodents or run along side the tractor.
We lived 6 miles from town(where we now are retired) and one of our dogs ran as far as town and the police picked him up and hated to bring him back (someone knew it was our dog) because he loved riding UP FRONT with them. He thought he was a hunt and search or a point dog. It was during a blizzard and he got confused which is why he ended up in town.
He loved the riding around and made his way to town several times just to get to ride with the cops! It was a mutual love affair.
Another of our 4 dogs would cross our road to visit another dog at the neighbor farm house but they were both males-just a nice friendly drop in for a short visit.

Where all the other doggies go. However, my friend's dog
ran off and played around in the field across from the animal
shelter, then went and scratched on the door to be let in.
The guys laughed and said as long as he stayed in the park
no problem. But, when he knocked on the door.........

Mine runs to elementary school down the street! My daughters go there and were out at recess one time when he got out and he stayed to play. Now he heads that way if he happens to escape.
