Taxidermy, skulls, animal skeletons, deer skeletons. Please, I don't need to know how to spruce up a fresh skull, I need to know how to spruce up an already cleaned, dry, brittle, exposed to the elements for years skull.

I wouldn't suggest polishing them or adding any chemicals to them if you are planning on "Sprucing" them up. Just give them a rinse with some warm water and keep them somewhere where not much dust or dirt can get into them. If they are cracked then dust can get into them if you leave them in certain areas, which attracts dust mite - and that would probably be the reason why they may be a little brittler. It depends on whether you are planning to keep them personally for yourself or own collection or planning to sell them to a local museum.

put the skulls up on poles, leave the skeletons out in the yard, half buried, with maybe some lights inside to make them glow at night...

great halloween idea!
