ok so it would be

(-3) squared which would be 9
so we have a -9+5(2) to the 3rd so u take 2 to the 3rd and figure taht out which would be 8
so now u take 5 times 8 which is 40 and then u add ur -9 into that so your final answer would be

49

ok first thing
(-3)² + 5(2)³

first write the problem out without the exponents
(-3)(-3) + 5(2)(2)(2)
ok now multiply the -3 and the -3
rewrite the problem

9 + 5(2)(2)(2)
ok now multiply the 2 times 2times 2
rewrite the problem
9 + 5(8)
now multiply the 5 and the 8
rewrite the problem

9+ 40
add
49
and the answer is 49
TADA!!!!!!!!! VOILA!!!!!
