A massively empowered Iran with control over the oil fields in the south of Iraq is one of the BEST case scenarios.

A massive Sunni/Shi'ite sectarian war ACROSS THE REGION, oil prices throught the roof and terrorists being bred by the thousand in a failed state is also very possible.

(And for those who don't get it - when dealing with a country whose leader is reliant on democratic election, oil is power)

The anti war crowd was saying BEFORE the war that it was likely we would get involved in a quagmire there. They were saying that Iran could fill the power vacuum there. They were saying that oil prices could skyrocket. They were saying that a chaotic Iraq could become a breeding ground for terrorists. The idiots who were in favor of this war should have thought of this BEFORE they launched this illegal and immoral invasion!!!

A massave Sunni/Shi'ite war is already happening across the region. And why are people so afraid of Iran? The media paints them as a monster that could just jump in a plane and attack U.S. soil at will. Iran is not Russia in the cold war folks. Hell, truth be told, Russia wasn't even that big a threat back then. Their economy was eating itself alive and we didn't even know it. To act as if Iran somehow has the possibility to even remotely pose a threat to America is to completely disband reality, something akin to putting a chip in your brain that would constantly feed your psyche with FOX news snippits every five minutes. We are talking about IRAN guys. You know, the country Saddam was able to go toe to toe with? So what then? Nuclear Missles? Are you serious? Not only do the best analysts say Iran couldn't 'possibly' develop a nuclear missle (and just a warhead, this does not include the technology needed for guidance, thrust, etc.) for at least ten years, but it would be absolute suicide to attack us with one. Terrorist state? Three guesses as to why terrorist hate us. Our freedoms? Wrong. Our culture? They dont' like it much, but wrong again. Our overthrow of a democratically elected leader (Mossadeq), and subsequent disregard for requests to remove troops from their holy lands and repeated attempts at nosing in on Middle-Eastern affairs ever since it was discovered that the majority of the worlds oil reserves were there? Bingo! You hit it right on the head! Not only do we need to remove our troops from Iraq, but we need to remove our troops from the entire Middle East. Doing so would destroy the extremist terrorist groups ability to recruit desperate young men, and while everything wouldn't be fixed in a day, it would bring us that much closer to a working relationship with the nations of the region.

People say the world doesnt need another lawyer but it so blaitantly does. People refuse to continue fighting because they are morally over the top "oooh no donn't wage war ont eh poor tyrant" if people pressure our government to withdraw from a war then they should have the patience to wait for that to be possible We will withdraw from Iraq and a second cold war will insue as terrorists cease WMDs. Wait ten years and people will demand war not be agaisnt it.

They have their eyes shut and their hands over the ears screaming LA LA LA WITHDRAW LA LA LA WITHDRAW! The consequences are not up for consideration.

When the carnage takes place, they will console themselves and absolve themselves of responsibility by blaming Bush for 'starting' 'the war'.

They are content to sit safely at home while Iraqis die. They will then assign blame to Bush for the higher price of oil and the lack of availability.

The deaths of Iraqis in some mysterious foreign land will be written off as the cost of doing business for US 'non-intervention'. They will rationalize their 'victory' saying they saved American lives.

Bush will continue to be blamed for everything from the weather to the fall of the dollar for decades unless a Republican is elected, in which case, their vitriol will be turned on the fresh meat.

They will be mute when we have to return. At least I hope they will. Perhaps not.

Add to that our own national security. There are reasons Iran wants us out of that particular region.

Ahmadinejad hasn't felt free to stand in the streets and publicly call for a Jihad against the West since our arrival there.

We would be all of foolish and remiss to ever leave our bases within Iraq.

Too previous due. The Iraq conflict is almost a undesirable marriage. in case you reside it relatively is going to in basic terms worsen. The time has come to tear the scab off the wound and placed across the troops residing house. there is not any use in attempting to avert the inevitable.

It's not as if the reason we are there is to support the people, we have totally let them down in that respect. It's not that the reason they are there is to benefit this country either, it's so that the greedy clique can control the major oil source and in the meantime control the population with militias & wars. Look at the economics here and look at the billions some are compiling off war industry, contractors and selling out that countries resources.

CAN we leave - what do you think that almost billion dollar embassy there is for- temporary?

Now compare that with the continuing "nightmare" of Sanchez testimony of the Dictator Dumbya Big Lie Iraqi Crusade. If we stop throwing good money after bad and have an energy INDEPENDENCE policy for LESS money, the oil price will be prompted by less demand. Dictator Dumbya FUBARed this one and there is NO good outcome here.

No people do not understand in fact most want to bury their heads in the sand like on south park and ignore it. I am sad to say that most people i know do not even register to vote let alone vote or pay attention to politics. It is scary down right scary where we as a nation are headed.

Of course people have no clue how volitile things are over there. We think it's bad now, but this is nothing, folks. They're not waiting for us to leave in order to link hands and start singing kumbaya.
