Being a supporter of one of the originals I can assure you that the word history is interpreted in different ways. Football supporters value their own clubs higher than any other, from the date of their conception to today. But, to think other club supporters are falling over themselves to mention Everton, Oh sorry, Liverpool was it? Is farcical.
Instead, I'll just enjoy continuing to talk, remember and dream about my own clubs effects that it's had and will continue to have as history.

history remains where they are. there is no need to dream of that night after night. what's important is now.
take the usa basketball team as an example. they used to dominate the world. but now, they are being outplayed by european teams.
liverpool were outplayed in the last few years, and they are doing something to change it. no one knows how it'll turn out. but at least they realize they need to do something. for better or worse, they are doing something.
we don't need to knock the other teams. that's unhealthy to say the least. give credit to where it's due. if man u plays well, i am happy. same with chelsea and arsenal, or any other teams for that matter. although a long time liverpool fan, i am also a football fan. i enjoy any good football around the world. enjoy it for what it's worth.
be joyful when other teams do well and be hysterical when your team becomes the champions

I think the thing people need to remember is success in football seems to come in phases for all teams liverpool have a great history the best in england. But the history does not matter now we need to perform now. While i think our history should be respected and not made fun off we need to respect what the other teams man united mostly are doing now. But no harm in a little banter still

This is very much related to Liverpool's past history - not that they aren't good today. They had wonderful - players such as Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalgleish to name just two. Back in the '70s and 80's no one could beat them. They had high profile players when the media was not as it is today. Half + of the country supported them ( your own team as well if you weren't Liverpudlian).

I'm an admirer of Liverpool and what they've achieved but as your baiting me by bringing my team into the argument, I will respond by saying what have you won in the EPL? You yourself must be disappointed with the fact that you haven't won a title in 17 tears, like I said I'm not knocking you, merely responding to your post.

You are, of course, quite right. But it's Loverpool fans that are constantly harping on about the past.
Admittedly they were once a GREAT team. That was some time ago now and things have changed.
Man Utd are now the dominant club that others aspire to.
It is all part of change. No doubt Utds, run will come to an end someday. But until then we are gonna enjoy it.
Move on.
