No, the guy is 64 years old and seems perfectly content doing what he does for FOX. College programs like Arkansas try to hire for the long term and Johnson would probably only stick around for 5 years tops before he was ready to re-retire.

Besides all of his top assistants, from his hey day have all moved on to head coaching or NFL jobs so he'd have to build a whole new coaching staff from scratch.

No big name coach will ever go to that f'd up mess in Arkansas. The only institution in the country that let's players parents and fans call shots. Biggest loser fans in the history of college football (all sports really) if you ask me. Maybe they should just continue requesting Nutt's cell phone records and tying up the court system with frivalous law suits like they have been. There is nothing worse than a whiney hawg fan.

Nope, I don't think Jimmy Johnson want to return to the college ranks as a coach.

Why do you ask, do you know something about the present coach that the rest of us don't know?

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

Hell no. Jimmy likes the studio too much and crusin' around South Florida in his vette. He doesn't need the headache after 3 super bowl rings and a national championship. Nothing left to prove, man. Sorry, you be stuck with a Nutt job.

we can only hope. but as far as that last ****** who posted heres a reply to you.
i am a hog fan....not hard core but i keep up with whats going on. only a idiot like yourself would post such a thing. theres not a school in the country that would retain a coach with such a bad record..and if the powers that be wont listen to the facts and the fans what are we to do....not only is he a bad coach all things point to him being a liar and a man with no moral content.
never have i heard him say its my fault....its always the players. and another thing you don't even have to be a great coach all you have to do is surround yourself with good assistant coaches and let them do their jobs....but nutt insists on hiring friends, family and yes men. fans are left with only one option " any means necessary" now shut yo mouth fool!!!!!

JJ is done with coaching. Why should he put up with the hassles and criticism when as a commentator he gets paid to criticize other coaches.

As much as i would love that, it has no chance of happening.
I think we are gonna use a cut out of Frank Broyles next year.

I had no idea this was a possibility. Is this a true possibility. Good luck to you if it is. Who else are some possibilities?
